A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Willie L. Shaw, Jr. Memorial Chapel.  Mr. Kenneth Debrise Pridgen, aka Man, was the son of the late Kenneth and Sara Sharpless Pridgen.  He departed from this earthly life on March 14, 2023, at home.  Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister Deborah Sharpless, brother Willis Pridgen and nephew Cortney Sansbury.  Kenneth was born November 25, 1966, in Wilmington, NC.  He attended the New Hanover County School System.  He was employed at Corbett Packing, Castle Hayne Road for several years.  Kenneth was known to some as "Man".  He will be remembered as a passionate and loving person.  His love for his children and family was genuine.  Kenneth had a heart of gold; he met no strangers.  His presence in a room had a way of bringing joy and laughter.  Sport was one of his favorite hobbies.  He leaves to cherish his memories:  son, Antwone Lucus; daughter, Brittany Jones, and Shyneka Lynae Walker; stepson, Kenneth Debrise Nixon; granddaughter, Genesis R. Metts; brother, Wayne Pridgen; uncle, Carlton (Kathleen) Pridgen; nieces, Kita Harvin and Kendrell Grady; nephews, Jawan Grady, Titus Grady and Rondell Solomon, and a host of other great nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
