Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Thursday. Kelvin Lamar Lofton was born on August 20, 1972, to the late William Wright Lofton, Jr. and Evelyn Elizabeth Lowe Lofton. He departed this life on June 13, 2022, at his home.  Kelvin was lovingly known as Barber Shop, Scoop, Seabreeze and much more.  He was born and raised in the Seabreeze Community and attended Hanks Chapel AME Church.  He graduated from John T. Hoggard High School in 1990 then earned his Associates Degree at Cape Fear Community College to become a machinist. Kelvin was a skilled barber that provided much more than a haircut to his community.  Kelvin was known for his outlandish jokes and sense of humor.  He could brighten the darkest day. He was a dedicated father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand. To know him was to love him.  Kelvin leaves to cherish his wonderful memory:  two sons, Kelvin Lofton, Jr. (Shakeria) of Charlotte, NC and Joshua Lofton and their loving mother, Lisa Carraway of Wilmington, NC; sister, Tara Conner (Robert) and brother, William Lofton, (Niecy) all of Charlotte, NC; grandmother, Wanda Lofton of Leland NC; uncles, Rev. David P. Lowe (Sandra) of Bahama, NC; Clarence Lofton of Charlotte, NC, Preston Lofton (Yoko) of Japan and  Kyle Ballard of Clarksville, TN; aunts, Doris Atkins of Washington DC, and Shirley Troy and  Dorene Lofton both of Leland, NC; nieces, Myah and Aubrey Conner; nephew, Bryce Lofton; godbrother, Steven Harrison; godchildren, Sadee Brown and Kenneth Bracy; his devoted and dearest friend, Barbara Bozeman and a host of cousins and friends.
