Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Ekklesia United Holy Church; 24 S. 17th Street. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Katrina Evette Swepson was born on July 11, 1962, in Wilmington, NC.  She transcended life on June 16, 2022, at her current place of residence. Katrina was preceded in death by her parents, Geneva Prentice-Swepson and John Swepson; daughter, Lastarr Swepson and her brothers, Clarence Lee, George Donnell, Herbert Lee, and Alonzo. Katrina attended New Hanover High School. Katrina later married Derek McDonald and became Katrina McDonald. Katrina served in multiple capacities in the food service industry. She was a manager and crew member for McDonald's for 15+ years where she served as a customer service representative.  The staff and customers knew and loved her dearly.  Katrina was a mother, daughter, sister, and friend.  Katrina is survived by her sons, Chris Swepson and Michael Swepson (Brittney); grandchildren: Vyolet Williams, Jaylen Swepson, Makayla Swepson, Destinee Swepson, Fayth Swepson, Jad'n Ingram and Michael Swepson Jr.; siblings: Harriet Prentice (Leon), Gwendolyn Jacobs (Eddie), Sophie Swepson (Kat); Allen Prentice (Minnie), David Prentice (Carla) and William Swepson Ouliet) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Katrina "Peaches" leaves great memories of her laughing, jokes, gorgeous smile and spending time with her grandchildren, children, family and friends in the Wilmington and Durham area.
