Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Shaw Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:30 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Joseph Lee "Buzzy" Cobbs departed his earthly home on January 4, 2025. Born to the late Joseph and Nettie Cobbs on December 9, 1952. Joseph was educated in the New Hanover County School system and spent a short time serving in the United States Army. A carpenter, mason, roofer fisher man was some of the many of careers he had during his life. He enjoyed traveling, and driving was one of his passions as well as fishing, dancing, music, cracking jokes and shooting the breeze, his family. Joseph was proceeded in death by his wife Linda Cobbs, sister Vera Cobbs and brother-in-law Roland Parker. Leaving to cherish his memories are two sons Joseph Lee Cobbs, Ill, Carey D. Cobbs, one daughter Selena Renee Cobbs. Five grandchildren Makayla Cobbs, Shawndavia Jewett, Joseph K. Cobbs, Kaydence Cobbs, and Lakim Blackledge. One great grandson, Khiarre. Joseph's surviving brothers are Marvin and Frederick (Frances) Cobbs. Four sisters Joan Coco, Marvia Bloodworth, Sylvia and Theresa Cobbs, and a host of very special nieces and nephews.
