Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, NC. Jerome Lee, a notable and honorable husband, father, stepfather, uncle, grandfather, nephew, and cousin peacefully transitioned on August 1, 2023, at Novant Medical Hospital, Wilmington, NC. Jerome Lee was born on June 6, 1948, in Williamston, NC to David and Odell. Jerome was a devoted husband to his wife of 5 years Willie Mae and his predeceased daughter Delias Washington 2022, his son and stepchildren. From a family of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. His surviving family, son Darrell Washington (Cheryl), Wendell, NC, sister Cassdra Lee Davis, (Wallace) of Garner, NC and brother Patrick Lee of Blanch, NC. Jerome enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1968 and served until 1972, and on his exit into civilian life, he was an officer of the New York Police Department, and Greensboro Police Department. He managed several other positions along with his own cleaning business: JL's Husband and Wife Janitorial Services and Civilian Life Fish Cleaning in areas such as Greensboro, Burlington and Wilmington, NC, which is still thriving. He faithfully attended Hope Baptist Church for all Nations, and taught Sunday School until his health began to fail. He was a strong financial supporter and was available to handle any task at church, exterior and/or interior. He was never too proud to sweep the outside steps or the walkways. Jerome's memories will be externally cherished by his beloved family and lifelong friends.
