Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 1, 2023, at New Covenant Holiness Church. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.  Mr. Jeffery Lee Eady was born in Whiteville, NC on April 28, 1958, to Raleigh Eady Sr., and Betty Morris.   He transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Life Center, Wilmington, NC. Those that knew and loved him, called him Jeff because calling him Jeffery Lee would get you the infamous stare every time.  Jeff received his education from New Hanover County Schools and found his passion in cooking.  His career was spent working as a cook/chef in multiple establishments in the city before finding his home at K&W Cafeteria in 2009. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his stepfather, Claude Morris; sister, Nadja Eady; son, Jermont James, and his grandmother, Minister Elouise Howard.  He was famous for sitting at a table with family to play spades and throwing food on a grill for an unplanned gathering.  During his fight with cancer, Jeff accepted Christ into his life.  He stated in his last days that "Jesus is my best friend".  He leaves to cherish his memories, his children; Robert James, Wanda Grissett, Dwann James Houser (Donald), Terquoise Eady, and Dyshawna Bradley all of Wilmington, NC; siblings, Wanda Lane, Aaron Eady (Angie) and Claudia Betrand all of Wilmington; Irene Bullock (Pennsylvania), Cindy Garrett, Jackie Thompson (Randolph), James Farris (Pat), all of Chadbourn, NC; Raleigh Eady, Jr (Jamie), Chandra Eady, and Darin Farris (Loretta) all of Fair Bluff, NC.  Seventeen grandchildren, a special uncle, Rob Howard, special cousin, Charles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
