Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 4925 New Centre Drive.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, Longwood, NC.  Visitation is from 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.  JD Daniels was born on April 8, 1936, to Ceasor and Hattie Daniels.  He departed this life on March 17, 2024, at his residence.  His mother and father, Ceasor and Hattie Daniels, and all his siblings preceded him in death.  He had four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his first wife, Ernestine S. Daniels, who preceded him in death.  They had nine children.  He gave his life to Christ and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Terry Henry.  He sang in the male choir and was faithful until his health failed.  He was educated in the Brunswick County school system.  He was employed at B&W for 17 years. He worked as a Longshoreman in Local 1426 for 23 years.  He leaves to cherish in his memory his wife Sophia Givens-Daniels of 5 years, his nine children, and three bonus children.  Children, Jerry Daniels, Sr. (Lasonya) Tulsa, OK, Cassie Daniels, Shallotte, NC, Mike Daniels, Sr., Fayetteville NC, Lonell Daniels, Moultrie, GA, Daryl Daniels, Las Vegas, NV, Ronald Daniels, and Anthanet (DeDe) Green (Raymond), Longwood, NC, Rita Stanley (William) Louisburg, NC, Phelesla Daniels, Bolivia, NC; bonus children, Latoshia Jones (Diamond), Wilmington, NC, Latoyia Turner (Tyrone), Jacksonville, NC, Sophia Sintyago, Brooklyn, NY; forty-three grandchildren, seventy-three great-grandchildren, and eight great-great  grandchildren; two special grandchildren, Ja'Onesty Banks Ellis, and Dosher Jones; brother-in-law David Smith (Barbara); two sisters-in-law Bessie Brown, Bolivia, NC, and Daisy Smith, Manhattan, NY;  two close friends, Avance Sidberry (Esther), and Benjamin Johnson (Patsy), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
