Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation is 4:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
Janie Bell Knight was born January 23, 1932 in Brunswick County to the late Hattie Vaught Moore and Robert Bullard Sr. After a blessed and joyful filled life, she entered eternal glory, June 26, 2024, at her home in the care of Lower Cape Fear Life Care. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Jackson; her stepfather, Harlee Moore; one brother, Robert Bullard Jr. and her sister, Annie Louise Jenkins. Janie graduated from Williston Senior High School in the Class 1951. She worked several jobs of service and helping people. She later obtained CNA certification. Janie worked as a CNA until her retirement. Janie became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in 2011. She strived to better herself and others around her with continuous education, community service and volunteering. Janie volunteered at Offender Aid and Restoration and Foster Grandparent programs. Her passions were the Displaces Homemakers Program, Floral Design, acting in plays with the Willis Richardson Players, singing with the A.M.E. Fellowship Choral Society and the J.J. Howze Choir. She leaves to cherish memories: her children, Linda Spicer of Jacksonville, NC, Robert F. Liddell Jr. (Felicia), Kenneth E. Liddell and Glenna L. Ball, all of Wilmington, NC; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Bullard (Carl) of New Brunswick, NJ, Carolyn Street (George) of Wilmington, NC, and Sandra Bullard of Leland, NC; one brother, Thomas Bullard of Leland, NC; a special cousin, Betty Martin of Spotsylvania, VA; a special family friend, Helen McKoy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
