Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.  Mr. James H. Wilson aka "Charles" was born on August 18, 1948, to Ruth Wilson and the late John Wesley Lowery in South Carolina, James moved to Wilmington where he attended New Hanover County Schools, to later move to Virginia where he was a resident there for years before returning to Wilmington.  James departed his life on August 27, 2023, at his home.  His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his three children; Michelle (Marvin) Williams of Leland, NC; Eirrik and Anthony Mingo of Raleigh, NC; his mother Ruth W. Pridgen, five granddaughters; Takia Williams, KaNyah, E'moni, Mia, Megan Mingo, four grandsons; TaeKeem Williiams, Noah, DyMir, Eirrik, Jr. Mingo; ten great grandchildren; one sister Lana (Carl Sr.) Fennell; two nieces Yolanda and Kiffany Fennell; one nephew Carl Fennell, Jr.  A host of devoted grandnieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.  A devoted friend:  Calvin Chadwick, and a loving caregiver, Mrs. Gwendolyn Carr from Elderhaus Pace.
