James Junior Miller, son of the late Lee Miller and Estelle Brailford Miller was born September 28, 1933. He departed this earthly life on December 9, 2025. "JJ" as he was so fondly called loved the Lord. He was raised by his aunt, Minnie Ida and was a dedicated member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. At Mt. Calvary, Junior Miller held many positions including a member of the Board of Trustees and a member of the JP Dawson Choir. He bragged about his church. He loved singing to anyone and everyone. It would not be him if he didn't bless you with a song. JJ was also a member of the Cavaliers Gospel Group. Junior Miller was previously employed with the City of Wilmington, from which he retired. Later he gained employment with New Hanover County Parks and Recreation. He was married to Cristine Nunn Miller who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and one grandchild, Tory Miller. Left as a single parent following the death of his wife, Junior Miller worked hard to provide for his family. He was an excellent father for his children, teaching them all aspects of life. He made sure his children were well taken care of. His talks always included bragging about his children. One of his greatest passions was just riding around town. His beautiful smile, wonderful voice and his never meeting a stranger attitude will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his children: Brenda Miller, Harriet "Bell" Miller, Sharon "Stinky" Coleman, James "Buster" Miller, Carl "Boo Boo" Miller, Angela "Six" Ellis (Tommy), Tawanna "Nanky" Miller, Linda "Bally" Miller, Linda Mingo, Cynthia (Captain RN) Sergio, and Adriana "Pinky" Shannon; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews: Treze Martin, Willie Miller, Johnny Miller, Dorothy Mae Miller, Brenda Richardson, Helen Martin and Willie Lou Martin; a host of other relatives and friends, including, Deacon Aiken, Lennon Brown, Jerry Williams, Vernell Sams, John Greene, Charles Springer and "Nub".
