Funeral will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at New Light Pentecostal Bible Ministry, 1119 Brooklyn Street; Navassa , NC 28451.  Burial will follow in the Dark Branch Cemetery, Winnabow, NC.  Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

James Arnold Lacewell, son of the late Nathaniel Lacewell, Sr. and Marie Bryant was born on October 9, 1952, in Wilmington, North Carolina.  James departed this earthly life on. August 25, 2022.  "Zip Mart" or "DaDa" as he was so fondly called, was educated in the Columbus County Public School System, graduating from Armour High School in the Class of 1971. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church in Riegelwood, North Carolina.  He later joined New Vision of Faith Missionary Baptist Church until his illness. Due to his illness, he was not able to physically attend church, but he was always online virtually.  Prior to his illness he was employed with Lackey, DuPont and Brunswick County Schools. James loved to clean, spend quality time with his family and work.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Willie Jones.  We know that the Bible remids us that, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 He leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Franesta Janell Lacewell of the home; his children, Taniea Miller (Billie) of Wilmington, NC, James Lacewell, Jr. (Renea) of Raleigh, NC and Bianca Fields (Ernest) of Riegelwood, NC; grandchildren, Andranica Morant and Jameelah Fields; great-grandchildren, Ahna Morant and Ace Morant; hi siblings, Willie Jones (Evangaline) of Elizabethtown, NC, Mattie Manogault (Robert) of Charleston, SC, Aleshia High of East Arcadia, NC and Nathaniel Lacewell, Jr. (Jackie)  of East Arcadia, NC; other relatives and friends.
