Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Spring Green Missionary Baptist Church, Riegelwood, NC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation is from 5-7:00 P.M. on Friday at Spring Green.

James Galloway Bryant, better known as "Weebee" was called to rest peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.  James Galloway Bryant was born on March 6, 1939, in the Northwest Community of Brunswick County, North Carolina to the late Ira Thomas and Ella Jane Neal Bryant.  James was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Glenn Bryant and John Dudley Bryant and three sisters, Odessa Bryant, Louise McMillian, and Shirley Shaw.  "Weebee" was educated in Brunswick County Schools at Lincoln High School located in Leland, North Carolina.  He accepted Jesus Christ when he was young and joined Spring Green Missionary Baptist Church, located in the city of Northwest, North Carolina.  "Weebee" loved the Lord, and he was a man of great faith.  He loved his church and loved going to his church on Sunday.  He was usually the first to arrive.  James was a beautiful soul when he was at his best.  He worked for years at Queensboro Metal Recycling until he retired.  After he retired, his home became a haven for his friends and relatives, and folks were always dropping by to pay him a visit.  He loved talking and visiting people as well, and he did this until his health began to fail.  His family bonds left him with many priceless memories that will never be forgotten.  James will truly be missed by many.  Surviving to cherish his forever memories are his children, Antonio Lacewell (Lesa) of Wilmington, NC, Tiffany Wilson of Dumfries, Virginia, and James Medal Simpson of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Lakee Upshaw of Washington, DC, and LaKeisha Hand of Wilmington, NC; a sister-in-law, Malinthia Bryant of Walterboro, SC; brother, Albert Lee Robbins (Jackie); sisters, Deloris Waddell of Riegelwood, NC, and Yolanda Perkins of Leland, NC; a devoted niece, Janice Bryant of Leland, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
