Obituary

Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church - Masonboro.  Burial will follow in the Masonboro Cemetery,  Visitation will be 5:30 P.M. Tuesday, Dec 2, 2025 at the funeral home.

Jacqueline Marie Smith-Coar was born November 14,1950 to the late Abraham and Letha Mae Smith.   She was the eldest of five children.  She was preceded in death by her brother John Lewis Smith.  She was a graduate of the class of 1969 from John T. Hoggard High School.   She attended and graduated Business College in Greensboro, NC.  She worked for Greensboro Housing for over 20 years.  She returned home where she worked for Wilmington Housing Authority, Reed's Jewelers, and AHEC where she retired in 2015.  She was affectionately known as "Jackie" she was full of life and spunky!  She was a loving person who loved traveling, dancing, puzzles, westerns and Marvin Gaye.  Jackie leaves to cherish her memories her Husband Sibia Coar, three stepchildren:  Sebastian Coan, Sharon Leonard (Roger), Steve Coar (Elizabeth).  Two grandchildren: Courtney, and Lexi.  One great granddaughter: One goddaughter: Aaronyanda Graham. One Brother: Ronald Smith (Patricia), two sisters: Daphne Hayes (Raymond), and Derwin Luby, and one brother-in-Law: James Coar of Mebane, NC.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and many special friends
