Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.
Isaiah Thomas was born on May 11, 1983, In Wilmington, North Carolina, to Velma Jean Thomas and the late Anthony Oliver. On November 25, 2025, Isaiah peacefully departed this life. A proud graduate of E. A. Laney High School in Wilmington, NC, Isaiah went on to dedicate 20 years of faithful service to the City of Wilmington, where he worked until medically retiling. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to serving his community. Isaiah possessed a warm and outgoing personality. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed and was well-liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, and genuine spirit left a lasting Impression on everyone he encountered. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. On March 26, 2011, Isaiah was united in holy matrimony with Fumika Thomas. From this loving union, three cherished children were born: McKenzie, Madison, and Maddox. Isaiah was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Fumika Thomas, and his father, Mr. Anthony Oliver. Isaiah leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving children, McKenzie, Madison, and Maddox; his mother, Velma Jean Thomas of Wilmington, NC; his siblings, Shamone Thomas, Eudasia Bryant (Travis), Brittany Watkins, all of Wilmington, NC, and Quinn Dunn (Taylor) of Orangeburg, SC; his sister-in-law, Latia Burnett (Lavondrick) of Raleigh, NC; five nephews; three nieces; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
