Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Stephen AME Church, Scotts Hill.  Burial will follow in the Pollock Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ida Lee Spicer was born February 17, 1960, in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late Joseph and Odessa Spicer.  She transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 20th, 2024.  Ida (Punny) graduated from E. A. Laney High School in 1978 and continued her education in cosmetology. She was a dedicated hair stylist for over 40 years and provided her valuable skills to her community.  Ida also started her career in healthcare and became a CNA.  She worked in various roles at NHRMC and Cape Fear Hospital.  She cared for our elderly community at multiple Nursing Homes until her health failed.  Ida met at the gates of heaven: her parents, Joseph and Odessa Spicer; sisters, Juanita Brown "Boosie", Mercedes Spicer; brother Joseph T. Spicer, grandmothers, Annie Spicer and Ida Brown.  She leaves to cherish her memories, her beautiful and devoted daughter Shamara Shantel Spicer; granddaughter Shamyia Adessa Spicer; grandson Amari Darnell Spicer all of Wilmington, NC; two brothers, Anthony Thomas "Fatboy' Spicer (Michelle) of Raleigh, NC, Rodney Batts of Hampstead, NC; two aunts, Doretha McIntyre of Brooklyn, NY, Mary London of Hampstead, NC; three nephews, Derrick Spicer "Slug" (Tanisha), Mylea Spicer, Miya Spicer; two great nieces, Josie Spicer, Carlee Jackson; special nephew Trevion Spicer "Daddy", and a host of cousins, church family and friends.
