Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Henry A. Batts, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 7, 2023.  He was 81 years old.  He was born on December 28, 1941, in Wilmington, North Carolina to Henry & Carrie Batts.  He married Rosa Stewart on September 23, 1961.  He moved to the Washington DC Maryland area in 1968.  He later returned to Wilmington in 1992.  He graduated high school in Columbus, Georgia.  He worked at Timmy Corporation, Corbett, Marriott, and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  He loved cars, woodworking home improvement, and building model cars.  Henry was the proud father of four children, grandfather to nine grandchildren, and great grandfather to eight great grandchildren.  He treasured every moment in his role as Father and Grandfather and showered his children and grandchildren with love and affection.  Henry is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Beatrice.  Henry leaves to cherish his precious memories:  His Loving Wife – Rosa Batts.  Children:  Sharon, Anita, Henry (Annet), and Andrea (Andre).  Grandchildren:  Tiffany (Luis), TJ, Candace, Shanise (Donald), DJ Pebbles, Xander, Makayla, and Aniyah.  Great Grandchildren:  Lennox, Journey, Laila, Roman, Levi, Gianna, Andre, and Jordyn.  Siblings:  Arzella, Rubie, Katie, Rudolph, and Clarence.  Special aunt, Amelia Batts.  Special cousin, Trena Clarke (Reggie).   A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
