Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Helena Elizabeth Locke was born on August 15, 1950, to the late Clifford and Gladys Locke, Jr.. On December 1, 2022, Helena quietly received her wings and rest while at Novant Health/New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Helena left Wilmington at the age of 5 and went to New York City. She lived in New York City until she returned home in 2006. She finished her education in New York City and then attended college for Fashion Design. Helena was employed with Abraham and Strauss. Helena was married to John Williams who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Gladys Locke, Jr.; two brothers, Sonnie Locke and Kenneth Locke; two sisters, Willie Lucille Austin and Mamie Ruth "Chew" Moore and her brother-in-law, Earl Johnson. She leaves to cherish fond memories: two sons, Demetrius (Keisha) Locke of Queens, NY; Shaka (Chastiy) Locke of Lumberton, NC; two granddaughters, Shakia Locke of Durham, NC and Karmara Locke of Lumberton, NC; two grandsons, Sean and John of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Lizzie Locke and Rosetta Locke both of Wilmington, NC; a very dear sister and brother (cousins), Robert and Lenora Morris of Leland, NC; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Locke of Detroit, MI and Phern Locke of Wilmington, NC; nephews, Vincent Locke, Jermaine Locke and Tony Locke all of Wilmington, NC, Andre' Locke of Detroit, MI and Dover Moore of Bronx, NY; nieces, LaShon Locke, Roshika Locke, Kenyetta Locke of Wilmington, NC, Catherine Moore, and Teekenna Moore all of New York, Gail Austin of Durham, NC and Shiniqua Lawson and Genia Artis of Wilmington, NC; grand-nieces, Ny'Quesha, Emoni, LaNyaah, Kny Iesha, Modesty, Kartier, Johnna and Lauren; grand-nephews, Tre'Quan, Alexander, Ny'Yarn, Tamiel, Jermaine, Quan, DaQuan, Anthony, Sincere, Quay, Khalil and Jace; two special cousins whom she was very close to, Tracy Morris and Pernese Morris of Boston, MA; a special dear friend and companion, Leon Goodman; a host of other relatives and friends.
