Funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Willie L. Shaw Jr. Memorial Chapel.  Burial in Pine Forest Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Gregory La'nard Police (Greg) was born on August 31, 1963, to Fredin Lee Police of Soperton, Georgia and Mable Dickey Police of Wilmington, North Carolina.  Gregory received a formal education in Irvine California and graduated from Irvine High School.  He had a love for space and the stars and took classes in Astronomy at Riverside Community College, in Riverside, California.  Greg was a Star Trek, Star Wars and Sci-Fi-fan.  He was a serious collector of Star Trek memorabilia, which included model ships, books, and movies. Greg married his beloved wife Cynthia Rae Shook (Cindy) of Riverside, California on September 15, 1990, in Las Vegas Nevada.  They lived for many years in California with his family, until relocating to Wilmington, North Carolina.  Greg and Cindy have two children, Matthew Gregory Police and Jonathon La'nard Police. Gregory departed this life on February 23, 2023, at Novant Health Regional Medical Center, in Wilmington, North Carolina. His memories are cherished by his wife Cindy Police; two children Matthew and Jonathan Police; Mother Mable Police; Sister Roseanda Hall (Robert); nieces, Kayla Rankin and Jalyn Hall of Apex, North Carolina; Aunts, Fannie Dickey Freeman and Thelma Vines Dickey McDuffie of Wilmington, North Carolina; Patricia Baker, Laura Police, and Tina Police of Stamford, Connecticut; and Uncle Charles Police of Atlanta, Georgia, and a host of cousins and close friends.
