Funeral Service will be 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Myrtle Grove AME Church, Leland, NC. Burial will follow in the Grainger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Friday at Myrtle Grove AME Church. Glather Louise Robbins, born on October 12, 1930, gracefully transitioned from this earthly life to eternity on November 17, 2023. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband the late Johnny Lee Robbins Sr., her son Otis Robbins, and her parents Freeland and Josephine Moore. Glather is survived by her children and their spouses: Johnnie Green of Raleigh, NC; Linwood Wayne (Teresa) Robbins; Samuel Robbins; Herbert (Patricia) Robbins of North Charleston, SC; Johnnie Robbins Jr. of Gastonia, NC; Alexander Robbins; Mary Robbins Toomer; Shirley (Ronnie) Gibbs; Rose Robbins of Fayetteville, NC; Ricky Robbins of Clinton, NC; and Israel Robbins of Virginia. She is also survived by her brother, Clayton Moore, and sister-in-law, Lillian Robbins. Glather also leaves a legacy of 37 grands, 62 great-grands and 3 great-great grands. Glather's life was marked by her commitment to family, education, and faith. She obtained her GED and pursued a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Glather served as a teacher assistant at Tileston Elementary for many years, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students. To her children, she was the world's best teacher, imparting invaluable lessons of love, resilience, and compassion. A lifelong member of Myrtle Grove AME Zion Church, Glather's faith was the cornerstone of her life. For nearly 40 years, she lent her musical talents as the Church's Senior Choir musician, using her gift to inspire and uplift the congregation. Her love for singing was infectious, often sharing her favorite tunes and encouraging others to join in the joy of music. Glather's generosity knew no bounds. Whether through sharing a song, a piece of wisdom, or a meal, she consistently sought to make a positive impact on the lives of those around her. Her special sayings, "Keep Sweet" and "Hang out with Jesus until we meet again," reflect her enduring spirit of love and faith. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, let us also celebrate the beautiful life that Glather Louise Robbins lived and the everlasting love she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
