Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Warner Temple AME Zion Church.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

George "Foster" Pellon, son of the late George W. Pellom and Bernice Keitt Pellom was born on January 31, 1950.  He departed this earthly life on February 19, 2024. Foster, as everyone called him was educated in the New Hanover County School System, graduating from Williston Senior High School in the Class of 1967.  Furthering his education he graduated from Shaw University. His employment career consisted of 49 Years with the State of North Carolina.  Foster was the first Black Officer for the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, North Carolina.  His remaining employment was with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Department, the Pender County Sheriff's Department and from November 1996 until his retirement on January 31, 2022, a span of 26 Years, Foster was a Magistrate Judge for New Hanover County.  He loved his job and took great pride in serving the citizens of New Hanover County.  Foster loved his family dearly.  He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Foster was preceded in death by his only son, George T. Pellom. Foster leaves to cherish fond memories:  his daughter, Missy Pellom of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Destiny Petteway, Amaziah Flaverney and Devin Pellom; uncle, Eugene "Buddy" Keitt (Carol) of Sacramento, CA; a host of cousins who were like the sisters and brothers he never had; life-long friends, Jacqueline Brown and Jacqueline Morris-Goodson; other relatives and many, many friends, too numerous to name and a special friend, Brenda General.
