Frank Ephfrom Ballard, Sr., affectionately known as Ting, was born on October 17, 1940, to the late Catherine Ballard and Ernest Ballard.  He departed this life on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the age of 84.  After the untimely death of his mother, Frank was raised by his grandmother, Daisy Pellom whom he loved deeply. She instilled in him a work ethic, and he grew up working alongside her in the fields.  Frank loved children and always wanted a big family. He was blessed with Walter (deceased), Rodney (Rynee), and Phyllis (Clarence). He married the love of his life, the late Cynthia Viola Ballard in 1968. They were blessed with 10 children: Kawaida (Bernard), Jabar (Toye), Gajarah (Gabriel), Seke; (six of them preceded him in death: Onzel, Shahidah, Thaza, Phemba, Jauhar and Frank, Jr.). Ting always wanted to be his own boss and to that end, established a logging business. He was known to be an avid reader and a teacher, passionate about passing knowledge on to others.  He was extremely intelligent and was the best chess player around.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, 34 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Helen M. Freeman and Diane Ballard, sisters and brothers-in-law, one godson, Immin Robbins, a few special cousins, Melinda Robinson, Dwight Perkins (Merline) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  He will be remembered forever and greatly missed.
