Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Willie L. Shaw, Jr. Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. Friday at the Funeral Home.

Ernest Hall, affectionately known as "Pete" or "Peter", was born to the late Johnnie and Mary Elizabeth Hall on October 14, 1942.  He passed away on September 12, 2024, at home. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Shirley" Hall; his siblings, Johnnie Hall, Jr., Annie Louise Hall-Bonaparte, Thomas Hall, Clarence Hall, William Edward Hall, Gary Hall, Lawrence Hall and Carolyn Hall-Fall. Ernest attended Williston Senior High School.  During his adult life he was employed with the City of Wilmington for 20 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  Ernest enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He loved working outside, gardening and landscaping. He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Sharon Hall of Houston, TX and Angela Horton of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Terrin Horton (Carla), Darius Horton, Sharell Hall, and Cianna Hall; three great-grandchildren, Dimitri Jubert, Zara Horton and Marcel Horton; three sisters, Harriet Hall Williams of Wilmington, NC, Mary Hall of Dorchester, MA, and Johnette Hall-Wilson of Wilmington, NC; two brothers, Freddie Hall (Modestine) of Goose Creek, SC and Larry Hall (Karon) of Wilmington, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
