It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Bozeman, 86, of Wilmington, North Carolina, on September 18, 2025.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep late Thursday evening. Born on August 8, 1939, in Wilmington, NC, to Thomas and Maime Bozeman.  Ernest lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a steadfast spirit.  He was admired for his exceptional skill as a brick mason and will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and charm.  Ernest also loved to sing and was affectionately nicknamed "Pelvis" because of his uncanny ability to dance like Elvis.  He was affectionately called "PaPa" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Ernest is survived by his children: Ernestine Bozeman Ballard (Darryl), Evelyn Bozeman Washington (Gene), and Andrew Bozeman (Teresa); his grandchildren; Jamee Neil (Ebony), Dayne Neil, Si Logan (Zivi), Bryan Ballard, Landon Logan, Jordan Logan, Trinity Bozeman, Donaven Bozeman, and Keyton Bozeman; his greatgrandchildren; Aubrey Logan, Wyatt Neil, River Logan, and Sage Logan; siblings: one brother, two sisters, and his loving cousin/sister Belinda Kelly (Sue), who was by his side until the end, along with many extended family members and friends who cherished him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Elaine Mitchell Bozeman; his daughter, Felice Bozeman Neil; his parents, Thomas and Maime Bozeman; four of his six sisters; and one of his two brothers. Ernest will be remembered for his deep love of family, his dedication to his craft, and the joy and laughter he brought to those around him.  His children will especially remember the love and knowledge he shared about nature and all living things.  He taught them to hunt, fish, and handle any creature with respect.  He also passed on invaluable handyman "woman" skills that are used daily and truly cherished—though not always wisely, as they sometimes resulted in building treehouses that damaged his trees. These lessons and memories will be treasured by his children and grandchildren for years to come.  His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
