Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2023, at Warner Temple A M E Z Church. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:30 pm Thursday at the Funeral Home. Elease McCormick was born to the last Addie and Albert Vaught, of Little River, South Carolina.  She was born on September 12, 1934.  She peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023.  She made Wilmington, NC her new home, and established roots there.  She found love and was united in marriage to her late husband John McCormick.  From their union, five children were born:  Sandra Jones, Johnny M. Eliesher McCormick, Carlton McCormick, and Elaine McCormick.  Elease was proceeded in death by her mother Addie Edge and father Albert Vaught, her husband John McCormick, and several siblings:  Richard Vaught, JD Vaught, Thelton Vaught, Norris Vaught, Albert Vaught, Fred Adam Vaught, Carrie and Hattie Mae Jones, Gracie Woodberry, and Lawrence.  In addition to her children, she is survived by her living siblings; two sisters, Dorothy Spain of Conway, SC, Sarah (Johnny) Willard of Columbia, SC, and one brother Donald (Pamela) Vaught of Conway, SC, who also mourn her loss and cherish her memory.  Her legacy extends to a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and those who knew her, reminding us of the preciousness of family, and the enduring power of love.
