Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 A.M. to 10:55 A.M. on Saturday, at Ebenezer, prior to the funeral service.

Edwina Grady affectionately known as "Sista" was born to Melvin Sr. and Dora Williams, at Community Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina on February 7, 1954. Edwina and her twin, Edwin "Bra", are the second youngest in line of Dora and Melvin's ten children. Edwina departed this earthly life on August 26, 2022, in Bronx, New York. "Sista" was raised in Wilmington, North Carolina and attended Gregory Elementary, Williston Junior High, and New Hanover High School. As a young child she liked playing in the dirt and finding bugs. Edwina was a leader, full of wit and jokes, well-liked by her peers, and protective over her siblings. She met Jerome Grady as a teen, and their love bloomed. In 1972 Jerome and Edwina were married. They relocated to Bronx, New York and raised three girls. Edwina was a determined and hardworking woman. She was a stay-at-home mom until 1976 when she transitioned into the workforce at OK Industries incorporated until 1997. At OK Industries she developed skills in machine operation and wire wrapping. When her journey at OK Industries came to an end, she went on to help raise her grandson. Her final place of work was at JCPenney as a window covering specialist. Edwina retired in 2018 and enjoyed her free time by making and selling jewelry. She was very handy and creative. Early in life Edwina attended Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. After relocating to New York, Creston Avenue Baptist Church was Sista's church home for many years, where she served as a hospitality leader, usher board chair, prophetic minister, and intercessor. Edwina loved the Lord! She also loved helping others, sewing, making jewelry, traveling, and spending time with her family; especially her great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Edwina was also preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Williams and Melvin Williams, Jr.; sister-in-law, Levon Williams and her brothers-in-law, Gerald Morris and Kenneth McCoy. Edwina leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 50 years, Jerome Grady of Rochester New York; daughters, Keisha Grady, Mikie Grady and Kendra Grady; grandson, Joshua Ruiz; great-granddaughter, Madison Ruiz; siblings, James Williams, Rosalie Eldridge, Thomasina Powell (James), Barbara Morris, Larry Williams (Erline), her twin, Edwin Williams (Janice), Chinta Williams and Betty Green; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Williams, Artis McCoy and Cynthia Grady; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
