Earl Haywood Frost, son of the late Louis and Maggie Frost was born October 14, 1942. He transitioned on March 22, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear Hosice and Life Care Center, Wilmington, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brothers, Elijah Frost, James Frost and Lawrence Frost. Earl attended Raleigh School for the Blind and Deaf where he graduated. He returned to Wilmington, North Carolina on his school breaks. Earl appeared on our local radio station on Sunday morning Gospel Hour singing with the Hums Jubilee Singers until he graduated from school. Earl gave his life to the Lord at a very early age. He later attended school to begin working on his trade in Garner, North Carolina as a piano and organ tuner. After finishing trade school, he was employed at Steinway Piano Company, the second largest piano company in the world. Earl had an amazing life, realizing that the Lord was his strength and with God, nothing is impossible. God afforded Earl with many opportunities. After settling in Boston, Massachusetts, he enrolled in additional learning at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts. Earl was not only a piano and organ player, he was also a vocalist and choir director for many choirs, playing for different churches at one time. He later joined Southern Baptist for over 40 years in Roxbury, Massachusetts; where he played for the Male Chorus, Youth Choir, Senior Choir and the Cathedral Choir. He held the position as a Deacon and took part in various activities in the church. Earl was president of the Task Force at the building located at 755 Tremont Street in Boston, Massachusetts, organizing various functions pertaining to the needs of the tenants. We thank God for the life of our brother, uncle and friend, Earl. We will miss him dearly. Earl is survived by: two sisters, Mary Frost Thomas of Wilmington, NC and Barbara Frost of Granite Falls, Washington; sister-in-law, Patricia Frost of Trenton, NJ; five nieces, Latanya Lloyd (Scott) of Delco, NC, Kenya Frost of Jersey City, NJ, Kyana Frost of Wilmington, NC, Amand Blum of Madison, WI and Felica McCormic of Greensboro, NC; eight nephews, Lawrence Frost (Pat) of Raleigh, NC, Tracey Frost (Kelly) of Waterboro, SC, Adrian Thomas (Thresa), Antwain Bowden and Jarra Frost all of Wilmington, NC and Adrian Thomas, Jr. of Madison, WI, Kevin Frost (Kelly) of Vancouver, BC Canada and Tyler Reinfielt of Phoenix, AZ; special friends, Lottie Ball and Geneva Wison both of Boston, MA and Georgia Crumdy of Wilmington, NC; other relatives and friends.
