Funeral will be 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Love Faithfully Ministries.  Burial will follow in the Robbins Cemetery, Leland, NC.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Donnie Robbins, age 73, was born July 8, 1950, to the late Reverend John I. Robbins Jr. and Bertha Lee Grady Robbins. He departed this life on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Novant Health, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Donnie attended Lincoln High School.  He was employed with Federal Paper. Later he went into the pulp wood business for himself which became his source of income to take care of his family.  Later on in his life he worked at the State Port for 12 years.  With commitment and dedication Donnie became a Longshoreman for 8 years. Donnie was a faithful member of Bethal AME Church where he sang on the male choir, which was a passion of his. He loved working in his garden. When not at work he would be at home on his tractor. When he put on his clothes, his Stacey Adams and that wonderful smile, showing that gap "WATCH OUT NOW". He would quickly make a new friend. Donnie had a big heart. He would help others and he would tell them, don't tell no one. Donnie married the late Evangelist Ella Mae Robbins and they were blessed with 8 children, two of which proceeded them in enteral life, Donnie Terrell Knox (Cynthia Miller Knox) and Illaha Kaleema Robbins. He leaves to cherish his memory: six children, Donna Holland (Maurice), Tisha Robbins, Ayo Robbins, Malika Perkins, Immin Robbins, and Jameel Robbins; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four siblings: Willie Robbins, Sr., Ronald Robbins, Sr. (Denise), Cornell Robbins (Lovatta) and Perry Blanks (Carolyn); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Donnie had a very special cousin Willie Mae Ballard and a life-long special friend Frank "Ting" Ballard.
