Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Friday.

Delores Rae Dowe, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2024, born October 2, 1947. Delores was a beloved daughter to the late Ella Frances Hines and Barney Johnson.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.  Delores was well-known known for her grit, perseverance, and her old school dance moves.  She loved bowling, traveling, and spending time with her family.  After graduating high school, she earned a degree in computer operation and worked in UNCW's computer office. She also owned her own contracted cleaning business to which she dedicated 40 years before retiring in 2020.  Her commitment and passion inspired those around her.  Delores's love and legacy will remain in the hearts of her husband, Irving Dowe and daughter, Deloris Dowe, both of Leland, NC; Son, Delton Johnson of Leland, NC; Brother, Johnny Johnson (Tamieka) and son, Curtis Hemmingway of Wilmington, NC; her grand and great grandchildren and a host of other cherished family members.  As we bid farewell to Delores, let us remember and honor the impact she had on our lives and the imprint she left on our hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may the memories we shared bring comfort during this difficult time.
