Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Willie L. Shaw Jr. Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Daveon DeMauri Thompson was born June 5, 2003, at 4:59 am, in Wilmington, NC, at New Hanover Regional Hospital to Tiffany Thompson and Derrick Eason.  Daveon also known by many as D Thang or Doodie was caring, funny, charming, and full of so much life.  He was a great father, a good son, a loving brother, an awesome cousin, and a loyal friend to so many.  Doodie loved joking around, never taking life too seriously.  He had a passion for football and basketball, and he loved his hamburger, eggs and rice.  Daveon had a smile that would light up a room, and a laugh you can never forget.  He will truly be missed here on earth.  He leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful daughter Skylar Malby, (mother) Tiffany Thompson, (father) Derrick Eason, (sisters) D'Asia Thompson, Dominique Eason, Desiree Eason, Mercedes Eason, (brother) Derrick Eason, (grandparents) Debra and Larry Thompson, (aunts) Shawntae Thompson and Alishia Jacobs, (uncle) Larry Thompson, (cousins) Angel Thompson, Shyheim Thompson, Shymane Goodman, Tyashia Freeman, Nicole Freeman, Annishia Thompson, (special godparents) April Trottie and Loletta Fennell, 3 god sisters, 3 god brothers, and a host of friends that are his extended family.
