Viewing will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 11:30 A.M.  A memorial service will take place 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Cape Fear Community College.  On July 24, 2023, Darius Roosevelt Richey gained his wings.  Darius was born on April 17, 1966, to Marie Richey and the late William Rowe.  Darius was raised by his mother and stepfather Herman Lee Foster in Brooklyn, New York.  He was educated in New York and furthered his education with Job Corps where he completed with honors.  Darius was employed by Cape Fear Community College where he greeted everyone with a smile and a word of encouragement.  He will be greatly missed by all.  Darius was a people person and never once met a stranger.  Darius was loved by many and encouraged others to be great at whatever they do and reach for the stars.  He also had strong faith in God and, also encouraged others to have faith in God as well.  Darius was proceeded in death by one son Darius Farrell and one sister Tonya Richey.  He leaves to cherish his loving and very supportive wife Lamieka Ingram Richey, five children: Darius Richey, Kalajah, GrueShane Ingram, Montrell Henry, and Angel Ross.  Four grandchildren; Khymarion Henry, Kalia Jackson, SaRiah Ingram, and Liam Cole.  One brother Herman Richey (Pamela), sister Yvette Salters and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
