Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation is 6:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Dakota April Sharpe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, at the age of 60.  She was born on March 12, 1965, in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she spent much of her life, surrounded by family and friends. Dakota was known for her warmth, generosity, and infectious spirit. She had a deep love for traveling, swimming, and cooking. Her kitchen was often filled with laughter and chatter of loved ones gathered around her table. She found true joy in spending time with family and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her vibrant personality made her the life of every party, and she had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together. Dakota married the love of her life, Robert Boone, Jr., and together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and community. She leaves to cherish, her husband Robert Sharpe of the home; her mother Janie McMillan of Wilmington NC; daughter Shateia Travis of Tampa FL; son Harold (Aimee) Sharpe of Wilmington NC; granddaughter Autumn Sharpe; grandson Douglas Travis; brother Lovan Sharpe; sisters Tonya Anderson and Crystal Sharpe of Wilmington NC. She was preceded in death by her father Eugene Vann, granddaughter Ava Sharpe, and brother Reginal Sharpe. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering support will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her.
