Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at St. Phillip AME Zion Church, Wrightsboro Community.  Burial will follow in the Moores Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Clifford Mack Clark , son of the late Leola Clark and Irving Foy, was born on July 9, 1937 in Wilmington, North Carolina.  He departed this earthly life on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Novant Health.  Clifford was educated in the New Hanover County School System.  He was raised in the Wrightsboro Community and every one knew and loved him.  Clifford had a great love for horses and horse drawn buggies.  He could tell you how to properly take care of them as he always had a horse of his own to love and take care of.  Clifford was a member of St. Phillip AME Zion Church and loved attending until his declining health prevented him from doing so.  He was also a proud member of the Wilmington Wrightsboro Saddle Club with whom he had many enjoyable horse events and recreational activities.  Clifford will be greatly missed.  In addition to his mother and father, Clifford was also preceded in death by his grandmother, grandfather, his two uncles and all of his aunts, except one. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his son, Vernon Lee Nixon (Dot) of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Marlo Colson of Wilmington, NC; grandsons, Keith Jackson (Rickteisha) of Valdosta, GA, Vernon Williams (Latasha) of Chesapeake, VA and Allen Davis (Alexis) of Wilmington, NC; seven great-grandchildren; one aunt, Janie Peacock of Manhattan, NY; one stepson, Charles Tart of Charlotte, NC; a host of other relatives and many friends, including the Wilmington Wrightsboro Saddle Club, his caregiver, Lillian Springer and a very special friend, Catherine Cooper.
