Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Cheryl Ann Bethea Mitchell was born on June 14, 1970, to Raymond Bowens, Sr., and the late Callie Bowens. She peacefully answered the Master's call on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Novant Health in Wilmington, NC.  Cheryl was educated in Columbus County Schools and graduated from Acme Delco High School in 1989. She later began her career with Bayada Home Health, where she remained until her passing.  Cheryl was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Callie Bowens; her brother, Raymond Bowens, Jr. ("Junebug"), and her son, DeAndrez Bethea.  Known for her lovable and motherly nature, Cheryl never met a stranger.  She was blessed with many dear friends and numerous godchildren. Cheryl loved spending time with her family and friends, and she will be remembered for the joy, laughter, and love she brought into the lives of all who knew her.  Cheryl leaves her precious memories cherished by: Father- Raymond Bowens, Sr.; two daughters- Charlene Green, Akieria Bethea, two sons- Charles Green "CJ" (Renee), Monta Green; grandchildren- Amarri, Gensis, Tamia, Michella, Gabriel, Isaiah, Amonni, Reazons, Ny 'Uri;  one sister- Mary Bowens; nieces and nephews- Tevin Davis, Kayla Bowens, Danielle Davis, Raymond Bowens, Ill, "Trey", Raven McKoy; aunts  Ellamae Brown (Sherwood), Audrey McCree (Mike), Annie Scott, Carrie Murphy (Archie); uncles  Brian Williams (TaWonna), Warren Williams (Theresa), Wayne Williams (Carolyn), Clifton Williams, Otto Bowens.  Special friends- The Hines Family, Naomi Pryor "Adopted Daughter", Candi Harvin.
