Funeral service will be 11:00 A M Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Kendall Chapel AME Church, Winnabow, NC.  Burial will follow in the Marsh Branch Cemetery, Winnabow, NC.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the funeral home from 4:30 - 7:00 PM.

Mr. Charles Ronald Jones, Sr. entered into rest on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Novant Health/New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 17, 1946, to the late Everlena B. Jones and Clarence Jones, Sr. He was proceeded in death by his sisters, Julia Jones Collins and Josephine Jones Watson. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined his beloved church, Kendall Chapel AME, where he held positions of treasurer, Steward, Sunday School teacher, and usher. He loved God's word and teaching it to others. He loved and served on the Conference and District leads as Lay Chaplain and District Superintendent for the NCC S.D. Charles was educated and graduated as an honor student in 1965 from Brunswick County Training School. He was accepted into North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. As a rising Junior he was drafted into service and served two years in the United States Navy. His hobbies were spending time with family, bowling, playing golf, playing tennis, and acting at local theaters. Once you met him, you would remember him. Friends of his children or grands would soon call him Dad or Poppy and were adopted into the family. With the love of his life, his bride, Betty Smith Jones, together they shared a union of 56 years; reared 4 children, the proud grandparents of 8 and great-grandparents of 8. The family love built.
