A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at New Covenant Holiness Church.  Cassandra "Sandie" Lee Ward's fighting spirit joined her mother Alice Harris and father Marcellus Bullard in God's Kingdom on Sunday April 23, 2023.  Sandie was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA on February 20, 1951.  She graduated from Frankford High School.  Sandie's beautiful smile soon mesmerized the runway and her love for theatrics shined through.  As Sandie embarked on the joys of parenthood, she relocated to Wilmington NC.  Her commitment to her sons will forever be evident.  Throughout her life, Sandie's strength and perseverance came from her relationship with her Almighty Savior.  Her church congregation meant so much to her always available to pray with her and for her through all life's seasons.  Sandie found great purpose and peace as a faithful member of her church choir, worshiping the Lord through her God-given gift of song.  Her testimony in unwavering faith taught all those around her to seek joy in all circumstances.  Sandie's creativity was masterminded as she wrote, produced, and directed "Godly Decisions."  Her alluring voice is heard in the original soundtrack specifically composed for the film.  This passionate project was truly a work of heart that allowed God to use Sandie's spiritual gifts as a ministry to others.  This independent spiritual film was adapted from Sandie's own stage play and proudly shot in its entirety in Wilmington, NC.  Sandie's granddaughters, Jaida, and Kiana gave her such vitality.  They are the daughters she always wanted and brought great excitement and sunshine into everyone's lives.  Sandie made sure to involve her girls in church endeavors instilling in them her enthusiastic love of Christ gardening and performing arts.  Her days with these loves gave her hope, gave her strength, and renewed her prayerful dedication for each, and every one of her family members.  Sis. Sandie Ward joined New Covenant Holiness Church on July 2, 2000, and has been a faithful member for almost 23 years.  She loved to sing and blessed us every Sunday by leading songs and singing on the choir.  Sandie also served the church as a Steward, worked in the finance room, and was an active participant in the Adult Sunday School Class.  Sis. Ward always wore a beautiful smile and showed the love of Christ to everyone she met.  She will be deeply missed by her church family.  "Jesus said to her, l am the resurrection and the life.  Those who believe in me, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die' -John 11:25-26".  Sandie is survived by her three sons:  Wontorey Ward, Nathan Ross Freeman, Jr. (Erin). and Kobie Anderson Freeman.
