Carol R. Jones completed her spiritual journey through time and was ushered into eternal peace by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 23, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was the youngest of five children to the late Mr. John Robinson and Rosa Lee Davis Robinson on June 4, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York. Carol was raised in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Eli Whitney Vocational School in 1963. Carol began her spiritual journey at St Luke FBH church under the Tutelage of the late Elder R.M. Palmer. Carol married Irvin Jones, Jr. in 1969 in Brooklyn, New York and from this union they were blessed with three sons, Irvin III, Paul and Damon. Carol relocated to Wilmington NC in January 1976 with her family. While in Wilmington she joined Anderson Tabernacle Church of God by Faith under the teaching of Bishop D.M. Murrill for 45 years. While serving at Anderson Tabernacle she was called into the role of Mother later in life and became affectionally known as "Mother Carol." She was a very active member until God called her home. Carol's first career choice was cosmetology. She was licensed in the city of New York. She later worked as a CNA for Davis Nursing Home until retirement. Carol was notable for cooking and providing food for her family and all church functions. One of her greatest attributes was caring for children. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert Robinson and Edward Robinson. Carol leaves to cherish in her memory: her husband of more than 53 years, Irvin "Buddy" Jones, Jr.; three sons, Irvin Levi Jones Jr. (Erica) of Apex, NC, Paul Emanuel Jones (Janelle) of Wilmington, NC and Damon Maurice Jones (Latosha) of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Gabriel, Karina, Juliana and Cameron; one brother, St. Julian Edward Robinson (Millie) of Long Island, NY; one sister, Mary Perkins (James) of Brooklyn NY; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Jones Coke, Dorothy Jones, Evelina Jones (Anthony); brother-in-law, Reggie Jones (Debra ); one of many special spiritual daughters, Safiya Poe and a host of extended relatives, friends.
