The Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Private Fraternal Ritual, (which is closed to the public) will take place from 2:30 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. and doors will open for the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation is 4:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

CARLTON JULIUS KEE, 71, of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025. Born on August 24, 1953, he was the son of the late Delores Kee and Charles E. Kee. A graduate of Winston-Salem State University, Carlton served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aerospace Medical Service Specialist, earning multiple honors before returning to Wilmington to work at Corning Incorporated. Carlton was a man of many passions—martial arts, boxing, basketball, and good food, especially his wife Emily's famous lumpia and adobo. A devoted 50-year member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., he lived a life of service, learning, and love. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Emily B. Kee; his daughter, Michelle D. Kee; his son, Michael B. Kee; his brothers, Charles Kee Jr. and Tariq James (Rochelle); and his sisters, Gwendolyn K. Slade and Camilla K. Lacewell (David).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, supporting scholarships and youth development initiatives that honor Carlton's enduring spirit of mentorship and service.
