Brenda P. Williams was born on May 21, 1954, to the late Simon and Elizabeth King in Fayetteville, NC. She was the ninth child of 11 children. On November 4, 2022, Brenda entered eternal rest at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center with the love of her family surrounding her.
Brenda was educated in the New Hanover County school system. Graduating from John T. Hoggard High School and attended Miller Motte Business College. She worked in the New Hanover County School System for over 26 years. Brenda was a member of the St Matthew AME Church on Wrightsville Sound and one of the lead singers of the choir, until her health, begin to fail; and yes, Brenda loved to sing!
Brenda met the love of her life, Jerry Lee Williams her first and only love at the tender age of 14, and they were married in 1976 when she was 23 years old. On November 27, 2022, they would have celebrated 46 years of marriage.
She taught her children how to live life to the fullest. Her love was unwavering, unconditional, and enduring. Brenda was very outspoken, and would tell you what was on her mind, and at the same time, give you the shirt off her back with no hesitation. She had a passion for fashion with one shopping rule–finding the perfect shoe to match that perfect outfit. She enjoyed playing Bingo, one of her favorite pass times and when she won, she would "Shop Until She Dropped".
Jerry, Mamie, and JW made up the entirety of her world. She could say whatever she wanted to about them, but you better not say nothing about her family or her mother-in-law, Mamie Williams, because she would put you in your place, and it may not be good.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Williams, Bernard King, Gladys Williams, Lillie-Mae Cross, Hazel King, and Simon King, Jr.
Brenda P. Williams leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Jerry Lee Williams, Children, Mamie Jacobs (Butch) and Jerry Williams, Jr. (Lateisha); grandchildren, Candasia, Kimauri, Kingston, Karmen, Quivon and Bo; one great-grand, Zae'liyn Brown; mother-in-law, Mamie Williams; siblings, Carolyn King Woods, Betty-Ann Holmes, Veola Evans, and Mary King Howard; brothers-in-law, Michael Williams, and Clarence Williams (Jacqueline) and a host of many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
