Brenda Ann Price Gore, daughter of the late James Hankins, and Mary Frances Price Garrot, departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her home.
Brenda was born on June 30, 1954, in Southport, North Carolina. Brenda attended Brunswick County Training School, graduating in the Class of 1972. She married the love of her life, William H. Gore on September 2, 1973. To this union, three daughters were born. Brenda accepted Christ at an early age and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health begin to fail. Realizing she must work until Jesus comes, she served her church as a choir member, cafeteria committee member, Assistant Ward Leader, and Sick Committee. Brenda was a member of Ward 2 with sister Alene Daley her Leader. Brenda was famous for her potato salad, and homemade dressing, and wouldn't hesitate when asked, but often volunteered. She had a passion for cooking, and she would let family know "that is not the way Mama did it". She held on to those Pricey Family traditions and made sure they were carried out on holidays and family gatherings. When she put on her red apron, she meant business. Brenda was employed with Walmart of Southport, as manager of the Shoe Department for 20 years, and retired in December 2020.
We pause now to give thanks to God for his divine grace and tender mercies. We loved Brenda, but God loved her best. Our hearts are broken, but as God calls us one by one, that family chain will link again.
Her memories will be held in the hearts of those she held dear, her husband Hilliam H. Gore of the home. Daughters, Septembre A. Gore, Tenelya A. Gore of the home, Tandria A. Gore, Southport, NC, Nekeda P. Linnen, Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren, Mary Frances McAdoo, James Junior McAdoo, III, William D. Gore Brown (Nana's Partner in Crime), Makayla M. Simpson, Kyerra D. Kinsey. Sisters, Daisy Price Nesmith (Alfonzo) Florence, SC, Anita Garrett-Esconge (Rodier) Southport, NC, Herlene Garrett Vanceboro, NC. Three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law. One great aunt – Mrs. Christabell Bryant Supply, NC. Special friends: Retha Buck, Debbie K. Wilson, Rosalind Bullard, Jonette Williams, Wynona Joyner, Sarah Joyner and Carolyn Frink, and a host of other relatives and friends.
