Brenda LaVerne Robinson-Baptist of Camp Springs, Maryland was born on December 14, 1947, in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late William "Bubba" and Irene (Freeman) Robinson. She was a 1965 graduate of Williston High School. Brenda married Eugene Moore in 1966, and the couple relocated to Washington, D.C. that same year. Although their union ended in 1982, their marriage was blessed with two sons, Jeffrey and Michael Moore. In the summer of 1987, while attending a high school class reunion, Brenda reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Glenn E. Baptist. Later that year, the two united in marriage. As a result of their unbreakable bond, Brenda embraced Glenn's daughter, Glynda, as her very own. Brenda and Glenn shared their life together for 15 years before his death in September 2002. Brenda was a fierce woman, known for her razor-sharp wit and "nononsense" approach to life. As the oldest of three, shewas fiercely protective of her family. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, resented them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them. Brenda worked at Genera/ Motors for many years in various administrative positions. Once she retired from General Motors, she accepted a position with Northern Virginia Community College as an office manager for the Office of the Provost until she decided to retire permanently from the workforce. Brenda's friendships encompassed all aspects of life, and each was special to her. From travelling with colleagues, to weekly phone calls with life-long friends, to family outings and bid whist tournaments, to class reunions, to helping in times of sadness and difficulty, Brenda was up for it all... She was the friend who would drive your mother to her doctor's appointment just as freely as she would join you for a spontaneous lunch. Brenda's sunset came on September 16, 2024, when she passed away peacefully at the Charter Senior Living facility in Bowie, Maryland. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jeffrey Moore (Monica); daughter, Glynda Baptist-Goings (Clayton); grandchildren: Caitlin, Cameron, Terrence, and Britney Moore; daughter-in-law, Robin F. Moore; sister-in-law, Hattie Moore,' and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including her very close friends, Caroline Robinson, Gwendolyn Carter, and Joanne Lewis. In addition to her parents and husband, Brenda was preceded in death by her sisters Vicky Pridgen and Kaye Bryant of Wilmington, NC, and her son, Michael R. Moore.
