Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Bettye Lee Newsome was called home on June 16, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on February 24, 1946 to the late Roy and Amelia Hill Lee. Bettye was baptized at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church.  She was educated at Williston Senior High School.  Bettye was a quiet person. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Newsome; daughter, Ashley Newsome; sisters, Barbara Core and Doris Beacham and her brother, William Lee. Bettye leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children, Adrian, Antonio, Michael, Ingrid, Brandon and Matthew; two grandchildren she raised as her own, Ambreya and Ta'Ron; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a loving sister, Frances Anderson; brother, David Lee (Linda); a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.
