Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Mt Holly Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Moore's Cemetery, Wrightsboro Community.  Visitation will be 3:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bessie Johnson Lettley was born on February 4, 1939, in Pender County to the late Harlee and Alice Walkins Johnson. She departed this life on January 24, 2026, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, North Carolina.  Bessie was a member of Mount Holly Missionary Baptist Church in the Wrightsboro Community. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lee Lettley.  She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.  She leaves behind her children; Ida Lacewell, Rosemary Davis, Lucille Perkins, and Michael Lettley.  Her grandchildren Rebecca Johnson, Tina Johnson (deceased), Gary Lee Perkins, III, Jermaine Perkins, Michael Walker, and Brittany Walker.  Her brother Dave Johnson (Mae).  A host of great-grands, great-great grands, nieces and nephews. Special nieces Delores Davis, Melissa Atkins, Shirley Benford, and a host of family and friends.
