Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Benjamin (Butch) Edwards was born to Tracy Scott and the late Helen Madeline Snow on August 17th, 1966.  Ben was nurtured in childhood by the late Beatrice Scott.  He departed this earthly life on Tuesday January 13th, 2026.  Ben was a man of many talents and virtues.  He completed his high school education before bravely Serving in the United States Navy.  After his honorable discharge, he pursued a career as an Asphalt Engineer, and later as a radiology technician at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.  In his leisure time, he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and his love for the sport brought much joy and excitement to his life.  Ben's vibrant personality and warm heart made him a beacon of love and kindness to those around him.  Known for his love of people, he never encountered a stranger, only new friendships waiting to be formed.  Ben's loving nature extended to his large and cherished family. He is survived by his father, Tracy Scott, his loving wife, Treil Edwards, their children Kendra, Brittany, and Jamara; bonus daughters Quisha and Jahein; stepchildren Sheera, Shanda, Kinona, and Kevin.  Additionally, he leaves behind his siblings, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, and an extensive family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
