Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Shaw Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

On March 1,1944, a beautiful angel named Belma Ruth Grady was born to Henry Fennell Sr., and Sarah Gertrude Fennell of Wilmington, NC.  She was truly heavenly sent.  She wasn't just a mother to her own children, but she was also a mother to her grandchildren and her great grandchildren alike.  Her doors were always open to anyone.  She attended Williston Sr. High school.  She was a hard-working woman who retired from UNCW.  She departed this life on March 10, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her late husband James Grady AKA "Jeff'; her three brothers Henry Fennell, Jr. AKA "Tune", Willie Fennell, Ernest Fennell and her sisters, Arlethia Mitchell and Gloria Lowe.  She is survived by her baby sister Agnes Fennell.  She leaves behind to cherish fond memories; her daughter Koketha Fennell, and her sons Micheal Fennell, Anthony Hardwrich (Wenona), Azeral Fennell (Karen) and Derick Smith.  A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, along with a special friend Audrey Johnson.
