Bardee Davis was blessed to live a full 87 years of life. As she would say, she was born on the 8 th month, the 20 th day of '34 (1934) in Grove Hill, Alabama to the late Ceasor and Della Cox Mitchell. She went home to rest with our Heavenly Father late Monday night, May 23, 2022. She was part of a large family and was one of twelve brothers and sisters. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Willodean Finch, Willie Mae Daniels, Gladys Holloway, Mary Adline Chapman, Sally Mitchell, Catherine Williams, Mamie Mitchell, Willie Lee Mitchell, Sr., Curtis Mitchell, and Ceasor Mitchell, Jr. She is survived by Nonie (Lester) Robinson, Jamie Mitchell, and sister-in-law, Zeola Mitchell. Bardee left Alabama as a young adult and landed her first big job in California at Del Monte. She then got married and started her own family giving birth to her first daughter in Coronado. She moved again and had three more children in Staten Island, New York. In her final move, she settled in Wilmington, NC, and pursued her passion to become a talented seamstress at Textilease, from which she later retired. She remarried when she met the love of her life, Willie Davis (deceased), and continued to raise her kids and grandkids. Ms. Davis is survived by her four children Linda (Charles) Allen, Delisa (James) Derseraux, John Bellamy, Jr., and Mark (Carla) Bellamy. She is preceded in death by granddaughter Jalisa Bellamy and leaves behind several loving grandchildren including Tiese Roxbury, Rachel Lloyd, Earl "Trey" Allen III, Joshua, Jasmine, Elijah, Sean, Clastimile, and Antwain. Bardee's circle of love was extended when she was gifted with several great-grandchildren including Makai Ray Gill and Trey Christopher Allen. The world was much more colorful because of her existence. Ms. Davis lived a full and vibrant life and was surrounded by a special love from her family. A life well-lived and a job well done. She will always be remembered as a wise and feisty fighter, who gave her all until her very last breath.
