Funeral service will be 1:00 on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Warner Temple AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Arthur "Artie" Moore, born February 18, 1957, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Artie was born to the late Arthur James Moore and Beatrice Nixon Moore, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two siblings, Dolores Nixon Jacobs and Tony Nixon. Artie was a proud graduate of New Hanover High School, Class of 1976. He had a deep love for sports, especially baseball and football, which brought him much joy throughout his life. He was a dedicated worker and was employed at the Sweeney Water Treatment Plant and Corbett's Packing Company. Artie leaves to cherish his memory: his loving brother, Bernard Moore of Washington, D.C. He is also survived by his special nephews, everlasting Jacobs and Tony Nixon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his precious great-niece, Shaquana Sheridan and beloved great-great-nephew, Kentrell Sheridan, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a devoted uncle and aunt, James and Juanita Moore of Wilmington, North Carolina; his cherished aunts: Hazel Layne, Estella Dixon, Ruby Moore, and Mable Miller, all of Durham, North Carolina; his special cousins: Shelia Mac Rae, Sandra Jackson, Marion Heggins, Paula and Timothy Moore, Lionel Shepard and Deborah Rogers as well as a host of cousins and friends. Arthur "Artie" Moore will be remembered for his presence, his love for family, and the lasting impression he made on all who knew him. Though he has departed this life, his memory will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. II Timothy 4:7 "l have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".
