April Charise Dorsey was born April 17, 1979, to Cheryl Richardson and the late Keith Richardson at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington NC.  She departed her earthly life on December 26, 2024, at Novant Health in Wilmington, NC.  She was preceded in death by her grandmother Dasie Simpson. April was educated through the Portland Oregon School District.  She later relocated back to Wilmington NC. She was employed at Dillard's Department Store.  April enjoyed working with her co-workers and meeting new people while doing her job.  She had a lovely smile that would always fill the room.  She loved attending family events, and that sense of humor that she would bring will always be remembered. April was a loving and caring person.  A devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend whose smile, laughter and caring ways will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her children: Marcus Rucker, Malachi Richardson, Nalani Richardson, Brianna Dorsey, Kelvin Dorsey, Jr., Deloris Edge; mother: Cheryl Richardson; stepfather: Dana Daniels; brothers, Artemus (Jennifer) Settles and Tremayne Richardson; nieces, Somaya Settles and Aja Settles; nephew, Donald Settles; aunt Joanne Richardson; uncle; Wayne Bowden; great aunt Cynthia Edmond; great uncle David Bowden.  Special uncle Greg King.  Special friends; Mathew Strother, Desean Johnson and Michael Edge, and a host of other family members and friends.
