Annie Pearl Flood, daughter of the late Joseph Pierce Sr. and Pearl Lena Pierce departed from this life on May 29, 2024.  She was born on July 10, 1946, in Rocky Point, NC. Annie was educated in the Pender County school system beginning at Rocky Point Elementary School and finished high school at Pender County Training School.  Annie was a God-fearing woman and loved singing.  She sang on the choir at St. Missionary Baptist Church.  She believed in looking presentable and loved dressing up when stepping out of the house.  She would always make sure her children were well dressed when they went to school events and even PTA meetings.  Cleaning was one of Annie's loves.  Not only did she enjoy keeping herself and the children neat and clean, but she also kept things neat and clean around the house.  She took this love outside the house and worked at the Holiday Inn & then moved to the Wilmington Hilton, where she worked for many years.  There she was consistently recognized as employee of the month throughout the 20+ years she was there. Annie also loved cooking and baking.  Her son Shomari loved her chocolate cakes.  She worked in the cafeteria at The United House of Prayer where she helped with the cooking and cleaning up afterwards.  When she moved to Charlotte, she enjoyed helping at the senior community clubhouse with different activities where she resided. Annie was preceded in death by her father Joseph Pierce Sr., mother Pearl Lena Pierce, husband of 32 years Robert Edward Flood Sr. and two sisters, Maggie Brown and Elizabeth Pierce.  Annie leaves to cherish: one daughter, Kamilah Booker (Joseph) of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Robert Flood Jr. (Chloe) of Wilmington, NC and Hanif Shomari Flood of Fort Washington, MD:  three brothers Joseph Pierce Jr. (Ann) of Petersburg, VA, John Pierce (Teresa) of Riverview, FL and Walter Pierce (Jerlene) of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters Elner Delores Pierce of Burgaw, NC and Loretta Ann Pierce of Rocky Point, NC; one brother in law Michael Flood of Raleigh, NC; one sister law Shirley Johnson (Marcus) of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren Jailan Booker of Charlotte, NC, Madison, Chamille, and Bryson Flood of Wilmington, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends who all loved her dearly.
