Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery. Visitation is at 4:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

Amelica Perry Age, daughter of the late John Perry and Queen Esther Moses Perry was born January 13, 1955, in Raleigh, North Carolina.  She departed this life on February 17, 2024, at home in Wilmington North Carolina.  Amelica was educated in the New Hanover County School System, graduating from John T. Hoggard High School.  After graduation she attended Cape Fear Technical College.  Amelica was a member of The Lord's House of Worship.  She worked as a Phlebotomist with the Wilmington Plasma Center for over ten years and as a Re-habilitation Technician for Skill Creations until her health declined. She loved drawing and was a great artist.  Two of her favorite characters to draw were Mickey and Minney Mouse.  "MeMe" as she was so fondly called was a very fun-loving person who loved her family and friends.  She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Amelica was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Ronnie and two sisters, Diana and Teresa Yvonne. "MeMe" leaves to cherish precious memories: her foster mother, Ms. Vivian Crosby of Wilmington, NC; her long-time companion, Anthony Age; three brothers, Anthony Lawrence Perry (Susie) of Washington, DC,  Larry Alexander Perry  of Wilmington, NC  and Apostle Earnest Andrew Perry, Sr. (Delores) of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Sallie Cecilia "CC" Perry (Tori) of Sanford, NC  and Dorothy Marie Perry of Douglassville, GA; a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends including three friends in her last days, Tammy, Cathy and TT.
