It was early on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, when Alfreda "Freda" Radford was called to her heavenly home. At 82 years young, she leaves not only cherished memories but a legacy of faith, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. A steadfast believer, Freda walked through life with grace, power, and a heart rooted in the love of God and family. To know Freda was to know the fierce, unconditional love of a mother, loving sister, the loyal heart of a friend, and the steady presence of someone who never wavered when it came to helping others. She had a quiet strength and was infinitely devoted to her children and family. Her home was a haven that blessed anyone who entered it. Born on May 21, 1942, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Moorer of Bowman, South Carolina, Freda was one of eight children. She was no stranger to hard work or close family bonds. Freda was a faithful member at Bethel AME Church, serving in various roles such as missionary ministry, choir member, and YPD. She established the first annual Family and Friends Day, showing her love for family, friends and fellowship. She was also a proud and devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She now rest in the arms of the Lord, reunited with her beloved husband, Willie "Pappy" Radford. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jonathan (Tanonka) Tyson and two siblings, Mildred Kirkland and Marvin (Michelle) Moorer. Freda leaves behind a family who will carry her memory in faith and love including: four children, Valerie Moorer of Plainfield, NJ, Johnnie Tyson of the home, Alvin (Tara) Tyson of Pittsboro, NC and Sonja Green of the home; twelve grandchildren, Kimeshia Murph, Antonio Tyson, Javonna Tyson, Jonelle Tyson, Javion Tyson, Markeyta Bostic, Tameisha (Barrington) Tyson-Blake, Jonathan (Diana) Tyson, Tylen Chillious, Taylor Tyson, Kayla Radford, and her special "old man" Jamil Radford; several great-grandchildren; five siblings, Allen Moorer of NY, Nesbit Moorer of Brentwood, NY, Betty Foster of New Braunfels, TX, Cynthia Williams of Bowman, SC and her "ride or die", Doris Moorer of Riegelwood, NC; and a host of family and friends.
